Piero Pasolini: His Story

ADD to favourites english

I met the Ideal, as they say, over a steak—I always say that—that is, I was eating in a restaurant. I had been invited by some friends we often met with: Oreste, Cari, and others, who told me that that evening they had invited a young lady who belonged to a group that was having a wonderful Christian experience. Since it was post-war, those of us who had, at least a little, a sense of Christianity and life tried to do something, because war… is not just a destruction of material things, but also of ideals, as Chiara says in her story. Also because either it throws you into hedonism, that is, into having fun and forgetting, or it creates serious problems, so you feel the need for the world to go differently.
